Re: My tractor

Didn't mean to mess with you're thread Marius, I've always wondered what kind of paint that was. Thanks Dave you're a walking encyclopedia  Ben, I could tell it was reddish color, but to me it looked a little brown to, so it's kind of confusing as to what the REAL color is, so I have to ask. I...

Re: My tractor

Every time I see one of our tractors with the guts out on a table I ask myself what kind of paint is that on the inside? And what color is it, (because I'm color blind I have to ask that to.) It has to be some kind of strong paint to be soaked in oil all it's life. Does anybody know?

I agree with Dave, some good boiled Linseed Oil works as a rust preventive and it shines really well.

Look and see if your fuel stop is pulled out and is working right. It may be broke and won't let it start.

Re: Finaly painting the Super Four

Pat that's a nice looking County, nice looking garage too, well equipped, even have a good looking sand blaster to go with it! What do you heat with? I know you all have pretty cold winters up your way. I use wood and coal stove in my 20x30 shop, I could put my garage in yours and still have room f...

Re: Steering Box - overhaul or not?

Hi Ben, you may want to do like Stefan did to his since you have it in bits. It would just take you a little more time, and you've been working on your Dexta a long time to skimp on this. You can weld it up grind it down a little, then finish with a file. Shim it up proper and your good to go for 50...

Its good to hear from you again, Mark. I was wondering if you were still around. Mark. I spent a lot of time on 14A's and 46A's and D-8K's, too. The newest one that I ever ran was a D-8R (not to be confused with a D-8 8R :) ). Its a high-track with single-lever differential steering, and all the co...

Liked the tune "Rawhide" in the video, brings back fond memories of watching the show "Rawhide" with Clint Eastwood in it as "Rowdy Yates."

JC, what year is your D8, I used to operate one way back in the day?
Have you ever gotten a chance to operate the newer models? There's a great big difference now, so much easier on the body.

Brian, I've operated all kinds of heavy equipment in the coal mining industry here in the Kentucky, where a diesel motor doesn't have time to carbon up. Hi Pat, and welcome to the board. Can you post the serial number of your Dexta? It's on the flange running vertical between the fuel filter and battery. This will clear up when she was made. What makes you so sure it's a 69? Could you post a picture of your tractor, I'm sure everyone on here would l...
