Re: Fordson Selene

Mathias1 I am going to be busy for the next few days at my brothers farm. Silage season and it’s cut in the old fashioned way. Single chop 60” taarup. And so when I get a chance I will dig out what I have on the roadless axle and forward the link. Going back to an earlier comment The o-ring that we...

Re: changing clutch

Looking good. Yes the oil level is the same level as the bottom of the input shaft hole, we saw it fixing Super Billy's new seal. There is no need to drain any oil to replace the input shaft seal or gasket. Sandy No need for draining the oil, is really a relief. with the underbeam of the county it'...

Re: changing clutch

I've done the seals this evening. Old ones were not that soft anymore. Had to wiggle a bit to get the shaft out. Oil is still in the gearbox. Seems like the level of the oil is about the same as the shaft. https://i.postimg.cc/NfCr8pP6/20220530-210725.jpg https://i.postimg.cc/zDjhvJCP/20220530-21073...

Re: Fordson Selene

Jim, that's correct like Sandy wrote. the size of the seal is 0,79" i.d. 0.103" Since I could not find one in imperial I used 20,30mm x 2,62mm which is almost the same size. Question: Do you have manuals/drawings of the Selene parts on the tractor? I have the opportunity to buy a Selene, still think...

Re: changing clutch

Hi, Luckily you have a nice and steady lift for your engine. Curious to hear your experiences with the new clutch, assuming it’s the modern type. Rgds Emiel yes It's the new type. will make a picture while fitting it. From memory, your wall is a very good match to the wall around County's machine s...

Is there still thread in the casting?
What about grinding it flat so you have room for a nut and weld it to the casting?

Re: Fordson Selene

Hi,

for seals and bearings I go to a local supplier.
The seal you need has this size: 2-1/2 x 3-1/2 x 3/4
While you are there, you can also change the o-ring on the diff lock shaft.

Dunlop tractor spares is in North Ireland, Don't know if that's far away for you.

changing clutch

I had a busy day today taking out the engine of the super 4. I ordered the new live drive clutch to have it installed. I also wanted to change the oil seals of the gearbox shaft. Not an easy job :s https://i.postimg.cc/sDPyvHbD/20220521-164904.jpg https://i.postimg.cc/SNbkQbTv/20220527-154028.jpg ht...

Its actually a super 4, but it had an engine swap in the past. One in the front would be really cool, but where to find one?

ploughing 2022

Now covid is gone (according to the government), we are going to do some ploughing in the coming weekend.
Started to de rust the boddies and discs. I hope they will shine after an hour of ploughing.
I also fixed the problem with the turning mechanism. Hope this will stay fine.

all depends on the place of the leak.
But for safety: drain all the fuel and fill the tank with water before welding.

Hi,

it's possible to use 1/2" hex bolts also. It's just a bit of fiddling with a screw driver to keep them from turning.

Re: Super Major rear wheel adjustment

I have these style of wheels on my county, but they are also reinforced. JCB did have them too.
You can see they put a spacer between the axle and the wheel. You can try to install the wheel without them.

If you use it as a firm to do transport work in construction: white diesel and you also need a technical control (or whatever it's called in english) every y...
