Re: SM Drain Plug cover NEEDED
FL stood for Ford Leamington I was told. Engine wise the engine max governed speed was increased by 100rpm on the new performance super major.

Interesting to read about the telescoping top link, we've got one or possibly even 2 of them somewhere here.

Re: Fordson Dealers, Chelmsford Essex 1961
Hi I'm trying to find a Donald denoon dealer plate, I've got a picture of one. I'm pretty sure my 1964 super major was supplied by them. The other dealers in that area were Does and Colchester tractors who were I think connected.

Re: Np super question
Yes I agree we have an oct. 64 with later type rear lights and it is enfo stamped on wings. Bulbs are all marked engo also. If you know where to look bonnet is stamped enfo and chassis side rails. Some early NP Supers had some enfo marked castings such as front crossmember. We have one NP with fomoc...

You should be able to crack the inlet and outlet ports one at a time to get fuel up. Prefill fuel filter canister to save some pumping.

Re: fordson super major deisel in oil
Lift pump would be most likely culprit. Sadly some of the new replacement parts are not the best quality wise. This would explain diesel in sump and lack of fuel at injector pump. As has been said engine can stop with camshaft holding fuel pump lever 'up' but this should be easy to tell. The other t...

Re: Engine Replacment.
I have put later engines into diesel majors and the only issues have been different sized pin in sump for radius arm (bigger on super major) different throttle linkage requirements (between minimech & vacuum type pump), neither of these should be an issue for you. I haven't had issues with flywheels...

Re: Looking for info on this Interesting Raised PTO mod
I got a bearing ok for mine in the UK, dont have number to hand as away from home right now. I am looking for a complete kit or just the long shaft with bearing on the end (not earlier type with nut on the end) as I have a spare drop box here and want to fit another raised PTO kit to a NPSM I have h...

Selene worth less in UK than roadless. Later selene had wide transfer box . Should be serial plate on front axle for roadless.

It looks like there were several tractors registered all on 28th Dec 1955: 881 EVX Ferguson, SA90272E 882 EVX Ferguson, X1003 883 EVX Ford (note this was 'land tractor' all the others were 'agric. tractor'), X98 884 EVX Ford X107L 885 EVX Ford X106L All registered to Ford Motor Co. Re: Prototype super major
Just had the details back from the Essex archives, both registrations were new to ford motor company. The 599PHK reg gives a serial number starting 'S' that was registered to Ford at Dagenham in May 1959, the reg underneath 883EVX gives a serial number of 'X98' and was one of several registered that...

Re: Roadless Value
In the UK a genuine Roadless (not a Selene) will fetch 5-6k rough/running but needing work, more if a new performance. A really good original or very well restored will be over 10k. One sold at auction recently in restored condition for 12k (H J Pugh auctioneers). A full front axle rebuild can set y...

Hi, sorry not managed to get any pictures on yet, its been so long since I last uploaded any I cant remember how you get them up. Prototype super major
Hi, I've recently bought what appears to be a prototype super major, most of the tractor is power major and dates to 59 or early 1960. It has super major tombstone, hydraulic top cover and disc brakes but none of these have the usual cast in date marks or even enfo markings. It has a few unusual opt...

New Performance Super Major raised PTO shaft
I'm looking for the driveshaft for a new performance super major to fit a raised PTO. I have a spare gearbox unit but missing the long driveshaft. These are specific to the new performance super major as there is a little bearing on the end of the long shaft rather than a large nut/split pin found o...

Hopefully someone will step forward and fill the gap t...

Re: Fordson standard vaporiser & throttle spring
anyone got any thoughts on this? I have found out that there are a couple of types of "jet" depending on the age of the tractor, is there a way of telling which should be fitted (mine is circa 1942)
