I am aware that there exist four different cables of which two are about the same length but with different nuts at the drive end...(that would be the AC and the smiths ones I am talking about) But if there is another drive unit that only fits together with the really old variety of cable, then I th...

The differences between smiths and AC drive units?
This one's clearly for Brian I think :) Allright, I have an AC drive unit on my FSM, the cable and tachometer are broken so I got myself new ones from ol' Britannia and I opted to do my dad's cousin a favor by getting the smith's cable instead of the AC one since he's got a smith's unit on his FSM b...

The project has not stopped up even if it may seem like it, I just haven't had the time or felt like updating anything, I've taken a thorough load of pictures of the progress tho and one day when I feel up to the task I will get on with the updating again, so far I've mounted the rear wings and the ...

I suppose you mean Grani? ;) I've swapped my seal for the Raised PTO but I didn't measure it when I changed, it's a...

Hi Pascal That looks like a good setup, it has given me some more ideas. and I will be making something similiar, I take it then that the u parts on the dexta steering arms were not large enough to go around the major axle. I wonder if the steering arms off a ferguson t 20 or a massey ferguson 35 w...

Mark, Start your new thread on here as it will keep 6 cylinder engine related subjects together for the moment. If you are going to write a story on how you do it, put it and pictures on the Wiki and keep just comments and questions on the board. Don't put it with the Major subjects as it is not a ...

Re: Leak between the Rear End and Transmission?!?
Thanks Brian, now I get it! A homemade gadget to recirculate the fluid back to the gearbox without overfilling would be a challenge. Going to have to give it some thought! :?: :?: :?:  If you're not afraid of modifying things you could always drill and tap a hole in the side of the gear selec...

Allright, will have a look into that next time I'm at the "crime scene" ;) The H/L shifter on the power and super are very much in the way if you want to get access to the rear side of your light switch and other assorted electrical goodies one might have been stupid enough to transplant into the lo...

Had a change to measure the seal this evening. I think your almost right Matt, but it seems to be in mm again. That would make 16 mm x 24 mm x 5 mm. Thanks. It's a seal with a metal housing, so you won't notice it when you are not looking for it. Matt, I think this seal will be easy to find. I reme...

Sorry for hijacking the thread here a short bit, but what does the end of the H/L shifter that's on the "pedestal" look like on a power and super major, does it have a tension pin through it or is there a clamp bolt to keep it in place?(tractor is nowhere in reach for me to check) On your question, ...

Thanks Brian and Foxen. Unless I can get some help I know I will have to take it out of the bottom which will require removal of draw bar also. Do you recommend taking it out of the top or bottom? I do have a hand winch I could maybe take top off with. I know I can get it off of the pedestal if I t...

Foxen ,the V8 in Volvo cars at the moment are a 4.4 litre 60 degree V8 designed by Yamaha. The point I was trying to get across is this, when we refer to an engines pedigree, is it the engines manufacturer, or the company who was responsible for the engines design? The Buick V8 is another classic e...
