I've gotten a few of the ones Agriline sell and have been happy with them, and they appear to be fairly close to the originals.

Re: Bonnet Centre Hinge Rubber Strip
OK, sense its raining and I'm being lazy tonight.... i went up in the barn, started digging around and found one bonnet that has what appears to be an original seal that is mostly all intact and is still soft and pliable. it looks to be just a flat strip with a rectangular profile of about 3/8" X 3/...

Re: Bonnet Centre Hinge Rubber Strip
This is what I used, http://www.mcmaster.com/#catalog/122/3515/=12vbr2x McMaster Carr's PN 93085K11, Style 12. If I remember correctly it was probably a little taller than it needed to be but as it is a hollow bulb it crushed down quite well. I'm thinking the original was a bulb as well, being the r...

Re: Something for the weekend
Love the videos Rick! only got through the box factory so far. Got to wonder why the dogs tail is so short with all those open belts and machinery???? The old growth trees were long gone in this area by the time I was born as it was the reason most of this state was settled in the 1800's. once in a ...

I have always thought these were cool as well, there is an operational Phoenix just an hour north of us that they brought down to the Symco Thrasharee several years ago.

Re: Dual drive build
I think you got it, the plate in the middle is merely a movable attachment point for the steering cylinders, If they would have used just one long cylinder on each side attached to both tractors, the rear wheels would have made contact when turning sharp. I googled "Ford tractor conversions Stewart ...

Re: Dual drive build
This is the Majority of the main assembly, sort of a lazy Susan with a extra plate sandwiched in the middle to attach the steering cylinders to ingeniously allowing the sharp turning radius of the unit. on the bottom of the housing is a rotatable shaft that is attached to the rear of the front tract...

Robert I do believe you are correct, I was so focused on that gearbox that I didn't even see the other goodies! I would have to agree that it is a "not for export" I can now see the hand brake, and if you look at the underside of that right fender towards the rear I believe we can see the bottom sid...

Re: Considering buying a 58 Major with a frozen diesel engin
Sounds like your on the rite track, when you put that clean fuel in the tank mix in some ATF, it will help to loosen up the gunked up injectors and pump. To shut it down you just pull back the lever on the back of the pump, it may still have a cable hooked to it. to ease starting, push in the excess...

Re: Very useful Lucas Electrical Information
Amazing how the memories of the "good old days" can come flooding back.. I was about 14 , just got done eating lunch and about to go back out to green chop in a hay field, just had to tighten down a few knife rivets on the sickle mower. with all but one done I hopped on the tractor, engaged the PTO ...

I can feel your pain SkidRoe! Years ago I was plowing snow with my dads Major, a blade on the back, alongside a quonset building with concrete walls up a few feet. As the snow slowly melted and trickled down the south side it would create large veins of ice on the concrete walls, I was looking at th...

Re: New Fordson Major Mk2 for the forum!
I'm still thinking about that rear wheel, (not that I obsess about things  ) With the cost of tooling in mind for just a few parts, I'm thinking that center was for the 30" rims , it just didn't get the final stamping process to roll the ends over before they were welded to the rim. and the t...

Re: New Fordson Major Mk2 for the forum!
Looks like you have a nice Major there. From what I can see of the power steering at least the ram looks to be the factory set up. And that is one unusual wheel on the right side, I have certainly never found one like that over here on this side of the pond! I am also curious about the badging on th...

Re: Rebuild with problems
Billy, were the injection lines left off or open that they would have gotten plugged, if not I'd pop the cover of the injection pump and make sure the plungers are not stuck, remember not to let any dirt get in there. Good work so far, sounds like your working your way through it!
