Re: How does the fuel tank reserve work?

Mark If you use the main part of the tank(ie 2 turns out) and you get down to where the level gets down, it will run out and get air in the fuel system. You will then need to wind the fuel tap out to get the reserve fuel, bleed the system and then drive to put more fuel in, before changing back to t...

Re: Best Man Speech Advice Needed

As I'm celebrating my 25th wedding anniversary today, I should be able to give some words of wisdom, but all I can come up with is 'Don't do it', and by the time you get to your speech, they would have already done it. Totally agree that if your not a comedian, don't make jokes. Make sure your speec...

Re: Question about conversion kit

We have a Mighty Ford 155 in the shed, which is converted to a 4wd version. Guys Are you not taking Marten's word 'Ford" as being a Ford conversion, when clearly it is a Massey Ferguson. I think his word Mighty Ford actually stands for Massey Ferguson, but wants it to be a Ford, so calls it a Might...

The repo is probably a southern hemisphere style where air or water swirl the opposite direction
Another reason to always reuse/repair your original parts if possible.

Re: Pats latest problem

Hi guys, you guessed it correctly, it’s a 2704ET (363CID). The engine in my Super Six is a 2715E (380CID). A friend told me of this one sitting in the scrap yard, the story goes that the Amish had been running a sawmill with it and brought it in as a core for apparently a similar unit With this in ...

How about some close up photos of the turbo?

6 bolt rims means major super-4. this one is extended though, you can see it on the prop axle. Theres a section between the sliding unit and the u-joint. I've been thinking about it since I said 654, and was going to change it to super 4 or super 6 but you beat me to it. Ground looks very dry. Are ...

Did you see it on Trademe? One of the things interesting about it is that under the multiple re-coats of paint, the first re-coat is RED. Re: Drainagemachine

So, what is it!
My guess would be a County of some sort, it's blue, equal size wheels, what looks like a driveshaft, you're a County man, 6 stud wheels (therefore early model) smallish size,
I would say a County 654.

Re: grass topping

Chris I do slashing and mowing for others (on Norfolk Island) and one of the first things you need to know is 'how much fuel does Rusty use per hour' when 'working'. I have drained both my tractor fuel tanks, made up a wooden dipstick, put in 5 litres and marked the dipstick, put in another 5 litres...

They can be bought separately as an individual item. They can be fitted to the tractor pto shaft spline, or to the topper gearbox input shaft spline. They can be bought with a quick release style for ease of removal from pto spline or with a roll pin/bolt type of attachment method. They can even be ...

Re: pto overrun clutch

Brian I don't see why there would be any problem with using an over-run clutch on a sickle bar mower. Whether you would need one (as a sickle bar mower won't have the same inertia as a topper/flail mower/rotary hoe etc etc) is up to you, but using one on the sickle won't have any adverse effects. Yo...

Re: pto overrun clutch

Brian They are used on tractors that do not have live drive. When using an implement such as a topper, when you put the clutch in to say, stop at the end of the paddock, the momentum of the rotating topper will continue to drive the tractor forward even though the clutch in pushed in. The over-run c...

Yes, a new engine deserves a new recore. False economy to not replace clutch plate/clutch bearings, and radiator core when rebuilding an engine.
