Hallo Brian, hallo Adrian, I think I take option two, removing the handbrake, since I will not find the parts i will need here in my area. The tractor has no roadlicense and I don´t need it on the road. Lawn mowing, driving a pto generator and pretty soon operating a square baller will work out ok, ...

Job done :D The bad part is the brake locating pins are broken. http://i1272.photobucket.com/albums/y383/county654/IMAG0578_zpsc6tjrftr.jpg We found them in the gearbox, along with pieces of the friction plates. Is it possible to run the gaerbox without handbrake, by fixing the the gear with proper ...

Hallo,
work is in progress 8)

We split the tractor, no problem . but now we are only able to pull the gearbox about one Inch Forward.
Do we have to remove the pto gears underneath the Primary gearbox?

Re: Gearbox problems

If Splitting is already 3/4 of the Job, it should not be rocket sience :D If done it long time ago on our Dexta, the bigest tractor we used to own in the late 60ths on a 30ha farm  , and later on a 7610 to do a job on the Dual power unit. We will start in the next days, I will post some pics....

Thank you for the support. It looks like some work on the tractor. Are the parts on the Power Major identic to the ones on a Super? I found a shop in Germany they offer the break disc and the ware plate, each at 5-6 € a pice for the Super http://www.hvs-handel.de/product_info.php?info=p5882_handbrem...

County made equal wheeled versions of both the 8600 and the 9600 but not many 8000 made it across to this side of the pond. We had one for evaluation in the late 1960's but Ford, in its wisdom, decided not to bring them across as the European market was not ready for them. I have seen a couple in H...

Now I found an offer of a model 8000 4 wd  I didn´t even know they were existing.

16,4x30 is not existing. You mean 16,9x30?

A couple weeks ago I saw a 6 Zylinder Major on 18,4x 34, it looked great.

After more than 2 years I will revive this thraed. By chance I found an afordable 6 Zylinder engine in nearby Belgium 8). I thought it should be a 590E, but it looks like beeing a 1957 510E, coming of a Clayson harvester. http://i1272.photobucket.com/albums/y383/county654/IMAG0331_zpsqcyodhos.jpg
