Discing with a 5000

Hello all,

Right, my father decided that i should disc a field tomorrow. I will be using our ford 5000 "y" a and a trailed offset disc harrow that was made by a bunch of welders (their job of making one was neat, anyway). I will be discing a rather stick soil, so I think I should post pics...

Re: Field disc for Power Major

That is... BRILLIANT!!!! Here, in the Philippines, an 8ft. trailed disc harrow on a moist soil would make our ford 5000 struggle sometime but someone who owned a fordson super major around here managed to pull another 8ft. disc harrow on very moist soil with much more ease!!!! Note: that f...

Re: Getting ready to paint the Selene/Power Major

I'm an English major, to be more accurate about the course, Bachelor in English Language :D . Oh I see, the fordson has a DAR valve in it . Here in our area, the dream of every farmer was that their ford/fordson tractors had some kind of DAR valve in it. Probably that is the reason why the two fords...

Re: New Performance Super Major with loader

Its the stock front axle wich is heavily reinforced. Tombstone is replaced and mount for the axle is integrated in the loader frame. Front tires are 9.00x16. I'll post some more pics tomorrow. Too dark outside now. It has frontmounted hydraulic pump and reservoir is in the loader-frame itself. I pa...

Re: New member, some questions...

It was my fathers idea to turn it around, in fact, i opposed to his idea because it would remove some paint  . But im pretty sure that front axle setup would be better when overhauling the engine, because there would be no worn pin to be stuck in the sump . I'm looking forward to those quick co...
