Hi Mark, Unfortunately the wholes of the alu-sump are not on the same place as the ones in the bellhousing. Probably the same problem as you have? My cousin is working on a solution. I think he is going to drill some extra wholes on both sides, to attach the alu sump and bellhousing. I will make so...

If the oilpan is made of aluminium then it´s no use to weld a bracket and put the 3 missing bolts because it can´t take the stress anyway. Lenghten the siderails instead to go all the way to the rear axle, the there should be no strenght problems. Build a crossmember for the A-support just in front ...

You can weld reinforsments on the upper and lower part of the welding, because the gasket do not vipe that part of the ball when steering.

Grani, do you know if it is possible for me to buy a complete front axle from a GMC CCKW, and do the necessary modifications for shortening the left side? Did Roadless make this modifications? I talked to the people in your link, and they have complete spare axels. Would be nice to have a front axl...

It is only the front axle that is from a GMC CCKW, but shortened at the left side. The propellorshaft joints are made of Hardy Spicer standard parts that are easy to buy from allmost everywhere, except for the overload clutch. You can try this place for CCKW parts, it is not too far from you. http:/...

The biggest problem with a FMD is that the engine has only 1900 rpm so the speed is not going to be what it has been before. The orginal Trader engine has 2500rpm and that is a little bit better. http://images.google.fi/images?hl=fi&source=hp&q=thames+trader&btnG=Etsi+kuvia&gbv=2&aq=f&aqi=&aql=&oq=&...

It might be that. But it'll only start running on 3 if its been sat around for a few hours at least. Is it possible it could be leaking water into one of the cylinders? Just enough to stop combustion until it warms up enough ? The water is not stopping the combustion because it is gone in a sec if ...

I guess it could be a bad nozzle. If you loosen one pipe at the time you will find the bad one when the sound does not change.

"View posts since last visit" function

Often when I use the "View posts since last visit" function it says, for example that: Search found 5 matches, but nothing appears. What is the reason for that? Other phpbb forums has not this problem.

The usual way for the water to get to the oil is that the lower O- ring for the cylinder sleeves let the water through. This crack is not so bad that it looks. I have no other experiance of an engine with a crack like that than I once sold an engine with a crack to a guy, and he bought it because it...
