You ask

I reckon they feel they have something to prove, compared to 'ol blue'

So one dexta does the work of 10 fergies, then?!

Vintage Ploughing

Hi, With ploughing matches in full swing, can someone tell me why Fergusons both grey and red, outnumber Fordsons by about 10:1? I asked a chap yesterday why he used a grey Fergie and he replied "Because my father had one!" I've read here that quite a number of folk consider say the Dexta to be bett...

Dexta Wanted

Hi, I am looking for a good dexta able to work on a 100 acre hill farm in NW Wales, to do general work inc harrowing, topping, occasional ploughing, etc. It needs to be tidy rather than show condition as it is for working. My budget is ~£1500 (but would pay more for a vg one). Being a newbie and hav...

Ben, There were two beauties near our hotel earlier in the week that would have come for around the €2000.00 euro. I paid £2000.00 for my petrol Dexta but that was a bit of a special. I have seen one that was purchased today for around €1500.00. I have also seen them in the magazines at anything be...

I saw a Fergie 35 at the w/e with a front loader. It had 6.00x16 front tyres.

Could be 4.00x19 or, 6.00X16.
Hi Brian,
Are these are bigger/wider wheels than standard recommended to stop the front end sinking in with the front loader?
Thanks,

Brian,
Many thanks for your helpful post, although I hasten to add it's prime time not bedtime reading - your posts never put me to sleep! My budget is ~£1500 for a Dexta fit to do harrowing, topping, occasional ploughing, etc on a small welsh hill farm.
Thanks again,
Ben

Dexta Buyer's Guide

Hi,
Please could the experts advise me on points to check. A buyer's check list would be much appreciated (perhaps there is one somewhere, eg Tractor and Machinery magazine?)
Many thanks,

V5 UK Registration Document - my maiden post!

Hi, I've just joined the Forum! I'm hoping to buy a Dexta. It appears to have a 'valid' V5 registration doc with the following info: Number plate reg num: Old style black plate with 3 letters followed by 3 digits. Date of first registration: 27.10.58 (according to V5) VIN/Chassis/Frame No: 95E368 (a...
