Re: broken thread in rear end housing
HI, As I understand it, the inside part of the casting around the hole has cracked off and presumably dropped down inside the back end... where's it gone...? exactly. I don't know where it's gone. I don't know if it's gone yesterday or at a repair in former times. If it's still in, I hope it follows...

Hi Henk,
Peter
I know, but taking pictures of the problem area didn't work. The inner hole is always dark. Maybe a photo editor can help, I'll try it later.henk wrote:Please:

Re: broken thread in rear end housing
Hi Henk,
Helicoil would be easy, but there's nothing left to screw it in.
Peter
Sorry, no. The hole is gone, not only the threat. As far as I could see through the cover there's only 1/3 of the threat left. The rest is cracked off.henk wrote:as I understand the threat in the hole is almost gone.

Hi, is the color of the oil in the last picture normal? Is there any other way to get the water out than boiling the oil in an old fryer? I noticed drops of water in the filler plug. My oil looks the same and has run only about 5-10 hours so far. But the rear end was not really clean after changing ...

broken thread in rear end housing
Hi, While changing sealings of the break pedal axle I noticed a leaking screw from the cover that holds the hydraulic pump. I tried to fasten it but it run very light, so I took it out. The inner thread in the rear end housing is gone. Not the winding, the whole body of the winding (don't know to ex...

Hi, these bulb holders must be isolated. I took a lot photos while restoring, but unfortunately not from the dashboard. If you look on ebay you see long and short versions. I used the short ones. I can take a photo from one (bought too much), if I don't forget it, when I'm back in the workshop. I go...

Re: Belgium Legislation
Hi, If you use red diesel in an old tractor far from any public road, how would anyone know? Only good news I guess is that if you're a farmer you can reclaim the VAT. Customs take probes from the tractor (if necessary in the middle of field work) and the red color lasts very long in the fuel system...

Re: Belgium Legislation
Hi Jos, similar in Germany. But red Diesel (Heizöl, for heating) is never allowed in any vehicules. It's controlled by customs, even far away from any border in the middle of your field. But we have an advantage: technical control is every two years. What about taxes? Argicultural tractors in German...

Hi,
and do not make my mistake when adjusting the brakes: The 1/2 turn of this 1.5 turns is the one that gives space when the brakes get warm from the rear axle. With only one turn back the brake gets very hot while driving (without breaking).

Re: The french Super Major in Germany
Hi,
back from TÜV: I got the technical approval.
Next is "Zulassungsstelle", the authority in Germany to give you a number plate. I got no papers with her, let's hope, she's not stolen in former times. They check it in whole Europe, but it works online, so you know instantly.

Hi,
just as normal. Plus to plus and earth to earth at the battery. As long as the vehicles don't touch each other somewhere there should be no problem. The battery of the tractor does not know whether it's a charger or another car that delivers power.

Hi Henk, no problem. Due to my not so perfect measurement I now have 3mm "toe out", but I think, that's ok. Re: Frontwheel lining
Hi, Keep the rears of the wheel half a centimeter closer than the front. It steers a lot lighter and the wheel will keep straight while driving. That's called "toe out". All articles I find recommend "toe in" (the shorter distance on the front of the wheels) or a neutral position on a non driven axl...

Hi, warming an old thread up ... Hi, I had the same problem. I took a pin punch ( http://static.gedore.net/module/objproduct_data/uploaddata/normal/8758640_k.jpg ) and hammered round the hole of the sensor. So the metal is flexed (google translate has no good word for me) and after a few minutes, the sensor was free and could be pu...
