Re: Charging wire

The wires will run to the regulator, and then to the battery. Not sure on the colors. A photo of what you have would help. The big wire should be To D for Dynamo. King pins and bushes are also available from the land of nearly right. You will need an expandable reamer to fit the pins in the new bronze bushes. New Bearings and seals are also available. I rebuilt my front end a number of years ago on my Power Major. Dandy Dave!

Re: has anybody ran an hydraulic log splitter

I've seen the screw type splitters in the past. Some of them bolted to the hub of a car, or light pickup/jeep rear end. They really worked well from what I could see. Not sure on really knotty stuff though. Dandy Dave!

Re: Volvo F724

I would suggest getting a factory Wiring diagram, or diagrams on a lot of new stuff. The amount of Wiring is maddening on modern stuff. Then start chasing the color codes to see what they go to. A Test Light and Multi Meter will be very helpful. Dandy Dave!

Re: has anybody ran an hydraulic log splitter

We had a hydraulic splitter when we were on the farm years back. Worked very good on the tractors we had. Did not have a Fordson Major at the time though. Don't see where it would be a problem as long as you have a DAR system installed. Or at least a return line. Dandy Dave!

I had the same problem with my Power Major. Like Brian says, It was a blocked tank valve. Drove me nuts as it was a piece of a leaf that would sometimes get sucked down, and other times float around. Dandy Dave!
