Chaps, There was a package in the mail today with a bunch of Märklin stickers, a bunch of Märklin balloons and..... two very rare parts from '60s Märklin models!! It's a small miracle is that Frans has these spare parts, as they're very rare. And he sent them to me, just like that! Frans, many thank...

Hey Oscar, I don't want to embarrass you, but you have out done yourself with you guitar playing. Those songs are really really good. My favorite is the one you wrote for you daughter and Lavender was exceptionally well done. Thanks Mark! Coming from you, a fellow picker with decades of experience,...

As for the song you're looking for, the one I wrote for my daughter, I'll listen to it again and see if I could still sleep at night if I knew that one was on MySpace. If so, I'll add it. If not, I'll email it to you so that you can listen to it privately. I revisited that song, normalized it a bit...

Oscar, while on this thread I went to listen to your playing and they were all gone! Where did they go? I really liked the one you wrote to you daughter. Hi Mark! Wow, I'm flattered! Never thought that anyone would ask for one of my songs! I removed those files because I felt that I had not done th...

(If anyone else wants to talk Märklin then just let me know and I'll be happy to go back to English :) ). Ik heb ook zitten dubben over die Capitole set maar heb het niet gedaan, aan de ene kant omdat mijn jaarlijkse budget voor treinen beperkt is en aan de andere kant omdat de wagons op teveel punt...

Well I drive and work work with my majors but I collect the other blue ones What a coincidence, Frans! I collect Märklin from the same period that you do! Your crocodiles look great - the 3015 is still missing from my collection due to its high price. Apart from locomotives, I also collect the tin-...

Hang on to those, they could be valuable! Make sure they're stored securely, i.e. not subjected to too much cold, heat or moisture.

When it came to paying our bill we found out that the hotel is no longer a Golden Tulip Hotel and would only accept cash. Now that is ridiculous - a hotel that doesn't accept credit cards :stress: . That just doesn't make sense at all. Anyway, I'm glad you've had another great trip to our little co...

Hi Oscar, Do you drive you trains too, or do you keep them in a showcase? I have a small collection of old Märklin trains myself. I used to drive them around in my bedroom. I don't have the necessary space in my house to make a permanent model railroad track, though I did have a small one in the sh...

Great photos! I was a bit afraid that it would be extremely busy this year in Göppingen, with the company on the brink of bankruptcy yet still celebrating its 150th Anniversary. Interestingly enough, you have a photo of a Baureihe 23 steamer (the one with the kids hanging out of the window). During ...

I met up with Brian & Ann at their hotel on Saturday morning for tea. As usual time flew by and before we knew it, 90 minutes had passed. I had to go straight back in order to attend the 45th Anniversary of my in-laws, so Meddo was not in the cards for me this year (we have things scheduled on Sunda...

Yes I am sorry too, but I am going to ... the open days by Marklin in Goppingen .... Had it not been my son's birthday, I would have gone there as well. I'm a collector of old Märklin stuff from the '50s and '60s and would have loved to see the company's 150th anniversary celebrations (they were on...

Les Paul was a genius. In addition to being a fabulous player, he also invented multi-track recording and the Les Paul guitar! He will be missed, but we should be glad that he's been with us for 94 years. He was playing professionally in the 1930's......

It's funny to note that while Barry restored her to beautiful perfection, from a historical sense he left it slightly inaccurate. Dexta's either had the single front-of-nose Dexta decal or dual the bonnet decals, not both. I put 'em all up there simply because I liked how it looked, and Barry left i...

Barry Thomas has won a prize with Ol' Blue!

With no small amount of pride I can announce that Barry Thomas has turned my old Dexta, Ol' Blue, into such a masterpiece that a prize has been awarded during a recent show! Here are some photos that Barry sent me - I'm sure he'll tell the accompanying story himself :). http://www.fordsontractorpage...
