I am still working my way through the charging circuit on my tractor and believe the ignition switch may be at fault (the ignition key has to be wiggled to get it to a place where the ignition circuit is actually live, and I think it might also result in the charging circuit being intermittant(?)). ...

I changed my pump recently. Having looked around a new pump really wasn't much more expensive than refurbishing the old one, and a hell of a lot less trouble. Whole job done in 45 minutes or so,

Got some good tanalised timber for frame and some 18mm floorboarding (untreated). Then creasoted ALL the soft wood. Got some oak for the side beams. Replaced the rotten planks in the sides today and have started painting.

Having read the whole of the previous thread I think I will just fashion some chicken wire to stop the upper mesh falling out and extend the central pipe about 1" below the surface of the oil bath. Simples (?)
