Re: Dexta's ONLY have Ford engines

Foxen, a question for you, do Saab 99's have a Saab engine or a Triumph engine? or Volvo V8's, do they have a Volvo engine or a Yamaha engine? (A bit of a quandary I think?) As the block and the cylinder head of the Dexta were cast by Ford in Dagenham, so it is a Ford engine NOT a Perkins en...

Rear wheels bolt circle diameter

This one is bugging me, does anyone know the bolt circle diameter and centre hole for the rear rims off a fordson major? I wish to know because I might go hunting for different rear wheels for mine and 30" seems to be very rare :/ Oh, this is a non-purist question because I'm likely to rip off the w...

Which side? I'd be thinking that one side will lock on because both actuators are identical, if one could make one that's a "mirror" of the existing ones and put that on the side that locks on it might solve this problem of ours... I'll try putting a slight dab of high pressure lithium grease on the...

William, Brake adjustment on the Super is straight forward. First slacken the self-locking pull nut in the linkage so that the brake pedal goes right down and there is nothing pulling on the linkage. adjust the screw on the bottom of the brake housing until it is up tight then back off 1 and 1/2 tu...

Brake adjustment, super major

Well... I seem to have a more recent workshop manual than the one that can be downloaded here and I have a _lot_ of "addenums" for it, but I can't find anywhere how to adjust the brakes properly when they have been completely torn apart(which is the state they are in now) From what I gather the supe...

Alright... I got the springs today and I can now confirm that the actuator springs for the MF 165 with dry brakes do fit "out of the box", they are made of slightly thicker wire than the originals but I suppose that means they will "let go" better than before :) http://iloapp.b20power.com/data/_gall...

The very same kit can be bought here in sweden: http://www.oeparts.se/Products/Product.asp?ItemId=62186&SectionId=644290 All the O-rings for my super major were there, except one suitable for the pressure pipe where it goes into the hydraulic lid. According to some people who have the older majors(n...

I thought the cold start/stop housing was fixed on with two screws? One accessible from outside the cover plate and the other one from the inside of the pump?

Foxen, Everything looks good. Your dad's mate does very good work as well. I only have one question...are you going to take all those parts back off to get everything that's not painted, painted? I'd be worried that I'd scratch all the good painted parts putting them on before I painted the tractor...

Foxen, Why does the dog get a hood but the Super Major doesn’t? :? The hood for the super major isn't quite finished yet, it needs some welding before I can fix it up, the dog got a hood because the wife dressed him before we went to the tractor that day ;) It's only the Power and Super Major that ...

Not that it doesn't stop anyone from having repainted it, but is it a dark blue or a lighter blue colour? Or just simplified, the tractor in this picture is a E1ADDN Super Major, all New Majors should have the same general features as this one has: http://iloapp.b20power.com/data/_gallery/public/6/1...

can't help you much with drawings or such, but I can tell you what thickness and such I have on my super major(it's a homegrown drawbar), it's made out of 20x50 steel, the hole for the pin is 26mm... the hole actually is 34mm(I didn't build this) but I'm having a bush made out of steel to press into...
