yes, if i put the filter facing upwards the oil will be flowing through the filter the other way, so if there was lots of debris etc on the filter i would in theory blow all that debris back around the engine. Hi mark, Congrats with your new engine, I have the same series engine, but I have a different exhaust and air inlet manifold. Does your injection pump has a connection for a rpm cable? Im going to look at a 590E engine in a couple of hours time, i will let you know how i get on, the owner tells me it is a late 590e and that the injector pump is externally driven but different to the earlier ones, i wont know untill i see it. does this sound viable??
