I saw a Merlin ( or maybe it was an Allison) V-12 in an International pickup. It didn't have a clutch at all. The driver would start it when he wanted to move and shut it off when he wanted to stop!

Brian,
I have fairly fast DSL, and its still slower for me than the old board. Oh well, its still the best tractor BB on the internet.

Do Pages Load Slower on the New BB

On the old BB, when I clicked on something, the new page would be loaded before I could take my finger off the mouse. Now when I click on something, I have to wait for 30 to 60 seconds for it to load. Sometimes it won't load at all, and I have to stop loading it and click the refresh button before i...

I'm not against hotrodding, but I'd like this one a lot better if they had done a neater job.

Hi Bob
I was able to see your pictures by copying and pasting the links. Those are a couple of nice tractors. Is the 4-wheel drive one a Roadless?

Try the Easy Things First

I always tell people to try the easy things first. I should take my own advice. The reason that it died while I was adjusting the buffer screw, was because it ran out of fuel. Then I noticed that one of the vacuum lines to the governor had a strange bend in it. Who ever worked on it last had to bend...

Power Major Governor

I had a little spare time yesterday, so I thought that I'd try to fix the governor hunt problem. When its running below 1/2 throttle, it will speed up to about 1000 rpm and back to idle. Above 1/2 throttle, it runs OK. It had been sitting for a long time before I got it, so I took the cover off the ...

Thanks Brian. They want to work the tractor, not show it, so I think I will convince them to look for a different tractor. I'll put a clutch in their Farmall M and they can use it for now. It's a little small, but it will do until they find a better tractor.

Ford 6000 Select O Speed

I'm going to go look at a 6000 with SOS for a friend, who wants to use it to pull a baler. I don't know much about these. What should I look for? What are their weak points or common problems?
Thanks.

Thanks, Oscar

Thanks for the new board, Oscar. I know that finding the time to do something like that isn't easy.
