Re: is this normal

cleaned and rebuilt top of engine, dropped sump to check pan filter, amazingly the sump and mesh were perfectly clean, probably as a result of diesel in the oil.
re filled oil and started good oil pressure when cold, i have yet to get warm yet so fingers crossed.

Re: lift arm balls

my arms have the same end as yours but the only place for a clip is on the outer side of the arm where there is just a small square or metal 10mm x 10mm, this square has a small retaining lip on the side nearest the ball. possible they are the wrong arms, but i am inclined to think they are original...

i was thinking about a repair it was just that the last owners mechanic said it was no good.

i have changed a diesel major pto shaft with a np one and they are the same,
the different gearing of pto is achieved by the ratio of the crown wheel on the diff, so eveything else is the same as far as i am aware.

hi Pascal
i do not have a rev counter so cannot be 100% certain, but it revs higher than most tractors so i would guess 2400-2500 rpm.

hi my 6 cylinder runs at 160 - 190 degrees, so i would say yours is not to bad, just keep an eye on temps when working hard or high revving for long road runs as the 4 cylinder rad can be a little to small and struggles to keep temps down. if you are really worried the rads can be re cored with a la...
