cleaned and rebuilt top of engine, dropped sump to check pan filter, amazingly the sump and mesh were perfectly clean, probably as a result of diesel in the oil.
re filled oil and started good oil pressure when cold, i have yet to get warm yet so fingers crossed.

oil pressure is not great but light goes out when revved, it does have about 3l of diesel in oil at present so i am hoping when i change oil, pressure will be better.

thanks guys my arms are on the wrong side as retainer lumps are facing out, and the holes for the clips are full of junk or snapped clip so i did see that there should be any holes.

my arms have the same end as yours but the only place for a clip is on the outer side of the arm where there is just a small square or metal 10mm x 10mm, this square has a small retaining lip on the side nearest the ball. possible they are the wrong arms, but i am inclined to think they are original...

just a quick update
got the wheel off and brake discs and housung removed, everything was caked in oil and grime so cleaned it all up, diff now works fine,i just need to order a rear seal before i put brakes back together.

ok thats what i was hoping both brakes where sticking for first 100m now neither seem to work, so i guess i will strip brakes out and clean diff etc and see if that helps.

hi my 6 cylinder runs at 160 - 190 degrees, so i would say yours is not to bad, just keep an eye on temps when working hard or high revving for long road runs as the 4 cylinder rad can be a little to small and struggles to keep temps down. if you are really worried the rads can be re cored with a la...
