Major grills

Any body out there got some grills for a power major? I didn't want to put new on as the rest of the to work has aged a bit :D don't have to be perfect cheers all

They are already on a pallet, I think they did have square headed bolts to stop them turning when bolting on but you may be able to get them from bolt supplier or I have just welded a lug on head of bolt before use a coarse thread and spring washer and they will look authentic cheers kev

I guess it give more room for loader plus someone's put the lights up high and most loader tractors I've seen seem to have the nose guard :D

Yeah it's live drive farmer said it used to have an old mill
Loader on it but he hated it and chucked it on the scrap :( I would of quite liked to of kept the loader on. Il post some pictures when I get her out working I've got get some tyres which is going to cost some £££ but they make the tractor

heres a fordson power major I bought a couple of weeks ago seen it in a barn and asked farmer if he wanted to sell and the deal was done :D I drove it home but engine was smoking and was using water so a rebuild was on the to do list here's a few pictures http://i1086.photobucket.com/albums/j450/woo...

Power major head gasket

I'm nearing the end of my engine rebuild, I was wondering what every body thinks I have a copper gasket and a composite one, what would of been fitted to the power major from new? And which seals the best any advice appreciated

Hi Adrian, the two bolts just hold a cap for outer cable threads onto the inner cable square end slides into a little spigot that is on the end of cam of pump , I've had a couple one had the spigot snapped off and the other had the square rounded so it wouldn't turn cable, I managed to fix that with...

Hi all I'm giving a power major a rebuild just wondered if you can reuse the conrod nuts, I can't see any available if I can't, also has anyone got the torque wrench settings for said nuts. Cheers all

I made a puller out of a piece of pipe with a nut welded at end and a long bolt and tacked the pipe to brake disc and wind the bolt into shaft cheers kev

Hi all I'm looking for the blanking plate off the d series where the compressor mounts or the power steering, for a 6 cylinder but I believe they were fitted to the 4 cylinders engines used in generators, compressors etc, it's not just a flat plate but it's got a ring that fits in hole to blank off ...

I have got short strips of 6mm welded around tombstone and the rails are pretty hefty so fingers crossed it won't end up in a heap of mess on the floor :D I've made some bracing to rear of tractor as well which is as good as I could do without making it to bulky only time will tell if it's strong en...

I only want it to be legal if I do a roadrun it probably will only go on the highway once maybe twice a year I haven't heard of any road runs getting stopped by the police, but I tend to drive mine to the meeting place and then drive home after, so we shall see I've asked my. I have an old fordson major that my relative bought from new but the original buff log book has got lost but I still have the original reg number, so I sent it off to dvla using v62 and in the box for chassis number I put the serial number off the little plate on firewall not sure if that's correct ...

My bad, they are 18.4X30 on a 12" rim. My Selene has the same size but those rims have been widened about 6", witch looks wider than they need to be. I'm thinking a 14" or 16" rim would work better. Thanks Robert , I've had quite a hard time finding these rims I didn't want to go the route of welding in centres into another wheel. I've had them shot blasted and painted next its tyres 16.9 30 seem impossible to find good secondhand. I can get bkt, or maholtra reasonable. So cheers for the advice...
