I have had the same problem, freed it off at the bottom where the ratchet is using a screwdriver to lever it free :clap:

Here 's another Brian, my super dexta is a 1962 model, and without doubt, silver grills. 1958 Dexta orange grills, I was there :beer:

I actually ended up fitting a new tap, it's just a basic tap costs about ten pounds plus vat. I have a super dexta and have never had starting problems :clap:

go to the start of the dexta section in the fordson pages and click on stefans workshop manual link section 9 electrical. in that you,ll find the wiring diagram
and even a child can follow it, it,s so easy :clap:

going by your serial no. your model is a standard dexta from January 1963, Fordson Empire blue with orange wheels :clap:

2 years ago on advice from local garage, I fitted a new dynamo. Previous dynamo was not charging the battery. Have checked connections, fan belt tension etc. but I am still having to put the battery on a charger every now and then, which makes me think there is still something not right. I have seen...

I used some heat and knocked out the top link rocker bush with a hammer and a suitable sized socket :clap:

sorry guys, got fed up waiting. Ordered same seat from Capital Seating, model no. CS01 it's the black one. Price £45.50 plus vat, no charge for delivery. Went to fit it today, just as well my tipper pipe is flexy, otherwise I might not have made it. Had to remove the plate which holds the tipper pip...

Hi Tom lad, my tipper pipe is coming from the front and round the side, so hopefully it should be ok. Looking forward to see how yours fits :clap:
