Allright. Then the newer type is 3/4. Might be the same a a later ford tractor. It should then be available at the nh tractor dealer.

Re: M45g starter bendix clutch plate lubrication

Hi, I think you mean the clutch pack in the starter drive. This is there to protect the starter for over loading. This clutch should not be greased. Only the sliding gear and the bearing bushes require lubrication. The clutch in the starter gets greasy overtime when oil leaks in the clutch housing a...

Hi,

Think you need this one;

Fitted one some time ago from this supplier if I remember correctly. And it was a direct replacement.

Re: Serious starter problem!

Hi, We had hot battery leads as well with a worn out starter. The cure was : new cables, good battery, clean connections and a good solenoid. Sticking solenoid can be a problem with bad battery, to less volts creates problems. You can measure the voltage drop over every connection under load to find...

Nup, got that one in, its about twice that size??

That’s good news.

In these gasket sets sometimes more types of close related engines are covered. You might find this Particular seal you don’t need.

Re: Baling with '55 FMD

Hi, IMHO one overrun clutch is enough. Please make sure your pto is in perfect condition. I once had an shaft going defect while baking on our 5610. The parts came really close to the rear window. That would have been problematic on a major. Please do not over rev your engine. Around 1150 rpm you ha...

Re: Starting an engine

Hi, First check for me would be valves opening and closing and sealing. I’m not familiar with British built ih tractors, but if they’re comparable I’m the engine department to the German types you might need a fast spinning starter. A pull start might be an option for the initial start up. If it run...

Undo the 8 bolts that hold the axle trumpet on the rear casting and turn it 180°, the holes on top are the same as the bottom
That’s exactly what I did once. Works well. Don’t forget to chase the threads to clean them. 70 years of debris might be in these top holes.

Hi,

Luckily you have a nice and steady lift for your engine.

Curious to hear your experiences with the new clutch, assuming it’s the modern type.

Enjoy it. I ploughed some weeks ago with the Dexta and the single furrow Lemken flip over plough. Forgot to take pictures

Hi, I recognise this problem. Repaired/rebuild a super engine about ten years ago. And fitted the old clutch back, as per owners instructions. While he was doing his first job with the tractor, working with the loader, he couldn’t get the tractor free anymore with the clutch. Clutch was properly adj...

Hi,

I used loctite 510 with succes the last time. Make you use a very tiny amount. You don’t want your liners to be to high or not seating properly.

Without a riveted data plate you can’t register any tractors in Germany. They had to to be able to sell them.

While your combination may work well, there’s always the possibility of problems should you need to stop suddenly. With the mower acting as a large flywheel, dipping the clutch won’t stop forward travel and you could easily find yourself halfway over a hedge or through a wall before all motion ceas...

Hi, The oil level is lower when the engine runs. When I do service my combine I have to move it away from its parking position. After the engine has run I clean the air filter. A terrible lot of oil drips out of the gauze after I remove the bowl. I always put a container below the filter. If there i...
