Re: Testing a dynamo
Take fan belt off and put 12v + on to both terminals. It should start to turn like a motor. If it does it should be ok. Then just connect up properly and test the output with multimeter.

Re: super major engine breather
Still not sure this is the right stuff. Wire wool maybe wasnt the best way to describe it. Its very course like a bundle of swarf.
I think i knpw the stuff you mean though. Its denser than a brillow pad type material.

Re: PTO shaft issue
sounds like that is the shear pin. if its Chinese it will most likely be just an 8.8 (ordinary hex bolt) If you have the old one it may be stamped on the head. If not 8.8 should be fine.

agree with the injectors service but double check the timing also, could be a few degrees out making starting difficult

Re: 4600 Changing Half shaft Oil Seal
If its just the old ford cab then leave it on. no need to touch that. If its a q cab youll probably have to take it off first if you cant get to the cover. The shaft will be aprox 4ft long once removed. In order to save the bearing for damage once removed you may have to make a 4ft puller as its ver...

the 2 gears are not one piece but shouldn't just come apart. im sure there is a circlip in this groove.
Whats your reason for stripping it out?
Have you installed new plates?
They are a fine art. It took me a while to set mine up, if the plates are only 0.5mm too thick, they wont fit.

Re: valve stem seal renewal?
If you remove the injector and put a small screwdriver or rod down the port. Turn the engine over and the rod will rise. When it stops its at tdc. Then you can push the spring down to remove the collet on the valve and then the seal.

It doesnt matter if.its timed right in order to get fuel out of all 4. As for the starting, depending on thr rest of the engine if its good it should run on 3 all be it rough. Maybe you have another problem. Have you changed the fuel and filter
