Re: fordson major 6 cylinder with winch

I have turned the and shortened the wishbone and made a bracket that bolts to the tomb stone and then made a steel toolbox that hides it all. I didn't have the height under the sump to get both axle pin and wishbone pin inline. seems to work ok, but i think the way brian's pictures shows is neater I...

Re: boughton winch

I was going to do that with a ram, But i didn't have any suitable rams lying around. And by using the lift arm seemed a lot less fab work, and cheap :D do you remember how much that winch sold for.

Re: boughton winch

I drilled a hole in the old draw bar and made it a tight fit and welded it to the arm and boxed it in, I kept the original arms as they were a bit good to get butchered but a neighbour gave me some that weren't so, I was going to leave it with no arm on the right but as i had a spare i just cut the ...

Re: fordson major 6 cylinder with winch

yeah a boughton two speed it says hdf 25 on the side, not sure what it means though :? ive only tried it on a couple of trees and it seemed to have ample pull for what i need, spades are a bit heavy i could do with a little winch behind the seat to pull them up.
