Re: plough for a dexta.

Hi.

You may well be able to pull/lift a three furrow conventional plough, but lifting a reversible, in my opinion, ain't gonna happen :D

Re: plough for a dexta.

You will not lift more than a two furrow reversible on a Dexta....

The machine is not heavy enough and the lift not powerful enough.

Re: fuel tap

Hi. You should have a pipe going from the fuel tap under the fuel tank, to the jet in the manifold. Additionally there should be a primer bulb fitted on the fuel tap that you push to force fuel up to the jet. You should have a 'heat' button on the dash which activates a coil in the manifold, this gl...

Grill Fixing

Hi. Does anyone have any pictures of how the grill fixings fix?

I have bought some new ones and cannot figure out how they go!

Thanks,

Hi. Yes I realise that, however it's the other end at the injector pump I'm thinking about.

Stop Cable

Hi,

I am fitting the pull to stop cable to my dexta at the moment, but am puzzled as to how I stop the outer cable moving instead of the inner cable!
Surely there must be something to hold the outer black cable somewhere? But I cannot see it!

Can anyone help...

Re: Dexta steering wheel

With regard to the steering wheel, some people use body filler to re-profile, then sand back to a smooth finish, then paint with aerosol and varnish.... just a thought if your wheel is nearing the end of it's working life :D

Re: Lift Pump Question

My thoughts on this are: It was put there for a reason, so if it's not working correctly, something will suffer (in your case fuel delivery) I would think it will make at least some difference, and if it doesn't you have eliminated one more (relatively cheap) possible cause, the next stage will of c...

Should be a very snug fit Mark. Vapormatic ones for Dexta are good.

Re: Dexta Hydraulics

Does it have live hydraulics? If not, have you got your pto in gear? Or does the Dexta not need this?

Re: Injectors and pump

Does the injector pump need oil in, on a normal Dexta? I have had mine rebuilt, and it came with a label on it 'No Oil'....

Re: Lift Quadrant Stuck

Hi Brian/Tom, Today I reluctantly unbolted and lifted the top cover off the tractor again  Looking at the manual I realized that the second of the levers, attached to the shaft of the quadrant, was not supposed to be seized to the shaft! So dismantling the entire hydraulic assembly again I hea...

Lift Quadrant Stuck

Hi, I am nearing the end of the restoration of my 58 Dexta, and I am about to re-instate the hydraulic lift cover, however I have run into an issue, in that the lift lever seems stuck. It has been stuck ever since I had the tractor, but I have since removed the hydraulic cover, cleaned everything and...

Hi. My advice would be to do both, as then you won't have to take it to bits again, to do the one that you didn't do the first time, when it leaks again!!
