It is probably then not surprising that Hercules once again tried to get some profit out of the Fordson by offering a replacement engine. This was the OX series, with a bore and stroke of 4 x 5 inches.

Invincible Motors of Australia were advertising these engines in a 1937 catalogue. Although I don’t have any Hercules history, I believe this engine could go back to the mid 1920’s. When the conversion kit was first produced I do not know.

We have an actual brochure for this conversion, but it is proving hard to find! This pic is taken from the Invincible catalogue.
