Hi, my instruction book says: use S.A.E. 90 oil for both, gearbox holds 12.5lts, rear axle 40.9ltrs
Hope this helps,
Chris

That's what I would use. My understading is SAE90 is specially designed for use as a gear oil. It's not necessarily thicker than 40 or 50 weight but with different additives making it suitable for gear boxes and diffs etc.

Hesford,

Do not use EP, HD or GX 90 in the Gear Box and Rear Transmission of your E27N. The additives in these oils can eat the leather seals and pit the bronze bushes, you need to use a GL1 Mineral SAE90.
