Since this engine is in pretty old and one piston has a bad top ring groove broken out. Should have it sleeved and get new pistons?
Why is the top ring so close to the top of piston?
Can you put a 4 inch aluminum piston in there to substitute the cast iron ?

Re: Piston Sleeves In Model F engine
Looks like you may have two choices. If your block has not been bored to 4.125 you may be able to get it bored and install the larger pistons that are available. Otherwise your only choice is to have it bored and then sleeved back to 4 inch. The risk that you run when having this done is that you may end up without thick enough metal and end up going though the side into the water chamber. You will have to enquire on weather the newer pistons are iron, or aluminum. The originals were Iron of course.
