The tractor came from Australia, there's a brass plate on the right rear wing which tells "Ford Motor Company Australia".
I'm still looking for some wheel weights to fit (preferably in Holland).. So if any of you readers can help me....
looks absolutely great. It is good to see another P6 on this forum
Strange that your tractor has English wheels on it, given that you got it from Australia. Normally Australian tractors had cast iron solid front wheeks and cast rear wheels. With the cast rears you did not need wheel weights.
Just out of curiosity, where did you get your batteries from? I was lead to believe they were a war surplus subarine battery that you could no longer buy.
Regards, Frank.
Real tractors don't need tin work to be beautiful.
I know Australian tractors have those cast wheels fitted. I don't know why our tractor hasn't got them. We bought it in Holland from a trader, who bought it from a trader in the UK who imported it from Australia. Maybe the tractor was fitted with the original wheels by one of them. But I'm not sure.
As for the batteries conserned: Thanks for your comment on the original batteries, now I see my "dummy" batteries work. There just steel boxes made in the size of the battery tray. The hight is estimated from old pictures. In these steel boxes are two normal standard 12V batteries. So from the outside it looks like batteries, but in realtime there not... I thought it was pretty clever!!!
Thanks for your comments, I will place some more pictures of our large collection of Fordsons soon.
do you know what size those BKT rear tyres are please as they look like 13.6 r 36 and i was told they would be too wide to put on major rims because they are only 10 inches wide.
and is that a CAV injector pump because it looks different somehow. thanks Jack
