Tyre size

I wish to put new boots on my major I have a 30/28 tyre in really good condition will it fit it is a west australian type rim ( one piece solid cast ) any assistance would be much apreciated

Mine are 13.6-24's on west oz cast rims.

Is this question on how to measure the rim for tire size? Rims are measured just below the lip that holds the tire on for height. You can easily guesstimate the tyre size by measuring between these points with a ruler. Also, the width of the rim gives you a good estimate of what width of tyre would work within reason on your rim. The way tyers are sized for width changed about 30 or 40 + years ago. The tyres use to be measured and sized at the rim width in the old days, Now they are measured at the total width when inflated. This will explain it even better than I can.
