Fordson F with rectangle tool box fender

Post by 560Dennis »

I got my brother to help me pull this fordson out of the barn to the machine shed.I hope I can get it going for a show this fall. I'm going to need some of your help suggestions. Thank you. This tractor has not moved in 60 years. I was impressed that the wheels were not locked up. Brother got on the Farmall C and pulled us out of the barn. Bro said he thought it moved real easy. I did to and I think it steers and manuvers easy.
Qusestion One the transmission and differential was making a whining noise. Is that normall for this tractor ? I made sure it was in neutral before we started.

Yes, Whinning is normal. Depending on which ratio you have. Some do not like to be towed as the worm drive will lock it up. The ring gear in the rear is bronze and could break easily towing it. Dandy Dave!
Have a Fordsonful day Folks!
