E27N magneto removal

Post by Bluebilly »

I want to send my magnet off for refurb, but am not sure how to take it off. There are 2 small screws on the fwd end of the magneto, can I remove these and withdraw it, or do I need to remove the 4 bolts that hold the magneto housing onto the tractor body, and send the whole lot off?

Any advice will be great.

From what I remember its the four bolts pointing upwards into the mag base, the Mag separates at the coupling, make sure you wire the loose bit of the coupling to the bracket, its the sort of part that tends to go walkabout while you are waiting :curse:

Dunno if you have a manual for the E27N but one can be downloaded in a variety of formats here

https://archive.org/details/tractors-23 ... tor-Manual

I find the PDF format best, the free document reader downloadable from www.adobe.com is better than the plugin some web browsers use

Thanks Oehrick, I sent my magneto off and got a replacement unit. The tractor is now firing up no bother and seems to run a lot sweeter than before - getting a good spark probably helps.
I've got a manual already thanks. The guy I got it from gave me one, but its always handy to have it in pdf too.
