What is the method to remove the flat belt pully on E27n?

Post by CalGG »

I would like to refit a capstan drum.

I looked at the shaft and fitting, but the removal of the pulley was not clear.

Those who have gone before?....

TIA

Take out 4 bolts, Remove pulley. Replace with plate to keep oil from slopping out, or replace with suitable pulley. Dandy Dave!

Hi

If you only want to remove the pulley itself and not the whole unit, remove the centre spindle nut, then look for two threaded holes in the hub.
These are 1/2" whitworth thread. Screw a bolt into each of these and keep screwing to release the taper drive.

Hey Bob! That makes sense from what I see.

I'll just need to turn up the 55 degree whitworth extraction bolts. nadda-problem!

Tip-o-the-hat! ;-)
