Sump Gasket

Post by fizza »

I'm ready to replace the sump on my E27n after a bearing adjustment and ring replacement.

Is there meant to be a gasket between the rear vertical face of the sump and the bell housing, or just the two long sides?

Hi,

You"ll certainly need a gasket there. Trust cut one in gasket paper and a little liquid gasket on both sides to make a sure seal.

Also check the rope seal in front before remounting.

Thanks Emiel, I thought it needed one . The parts list shows the two long side gaskets but not the vertical one.
But you are right and I will do as you suggest.
