E27N mesh oil filter

Hi, I am new to this forum.
I have a 1949 E27N which has then had a factory fitted 1951 engine exchange and I am in the process of changing the oil. When I have come to check the mesh oil filter the mesh has come away from one of the frame pieces (about a 2 inch opening). I think it is repairable with some soldering but if not then can anyone please tell me if it is possible to buy a new one anywhere? (I have searched the net). Many thanks...
