Hello, I am just beginning the restoration of a wartime Fordson which I acquired from a neighbour of my parents who purchased it on a lend lease agreement during the war. This is the first of what I suspect will be many questions as I learn about my tractor as the restoration progresses.

Sadly the tractor has spent a long time uncovered (Circa 30 years we think) and as such the steering wheel has almost completely rusted away. In the long term I would like to replace it with an original but given the eye watering price (and the list of other things to spend money on) I was wondering if anybody could advise of a cheaper route to get me something to assist with maneuvering the tractor in the meantime? Heres an image of my father and I struggling to get it into my workshop.
