Hi all
I'm repairing the water pump on my Model N. The front and rear bushes are worn out, and the impeller shaft is very heavily pitted form rust and wear. Looking at the parts available, I can easily get the bushes and a brand new shaft. But how do I get the impeller off the shaft? Is it threaded (left or right-hand thread) or is it push-fit? Any tips for getting it off the old shaft and re-fitting to the new?
Thanks!
Duncan

Re: Fordson Standard N water pump
Ok! Worked it out. It's an interference fit.
Had the impeller and shaft in an Oxalic Acid bath for a couple of days to clean up the rust. Once the rust was treated, I could see the outline of the shaft in the end of the impeller. Heated the impeller to > 300 degrees then belted it with a drift and the shaft dropped out.
