All loaded, tied down and ready to leave for Harwich. Meeting Emiel tomorrow afternoon and then off to the show ground. Looks like it is going to be a beautiful weekend if the weather forecast is right.

See you there!

Back again from Meddo, we left Etten at about 7.30 am Monday morning and arrived at Hoek van Holland at just on 10 am leaving us plenty of time for a walk around the town and to pick up some things from the local fresh bred shop and the supermarket. We shared the trip out and back with hundreds of motor cyclists and the racing teams who had been at the Super Bikes event at Assen. In all our trips we have never seen the boat as full. A strange collection of hairstyles, tattoos and dress but all with one interest, motorbikes. Some of the support vehicles made Rover and all very down market. We got back to base around 11 pm and was just on the last mile up a country road when the night lit up with flashing blue lights! We got pulled over by the police and had to explain what we were doing at that time of night with a tractor on a trailer! It seems that there have been a number of tractor thefts in Norfolk and we were suspects! They ran the number plates of tractor and car through the computor and we had passports, licence, insurance and paperwork for both Rover and Dotty with us so they let us go. The young police woman was scratching her head about two old English people who had taken their tractor to Holland for a show.

Pictures to follow when I get them downloaded.

Oh, that was a bit bad, I could imagine you returning home, tired from travelling only to be pulled over for being a suspected thief!

My only question is, how could a tractor be stolen!?

And if you'll going to say that you attended a tractor show in The Netherlands, she'll be scratching her head even harder!! :D

The Tiemenssen Stand at Meddo where we made a Guest appearance! :D

Image

The other side as I could not get it all in.

Image

Image

The Delco Light Manufacturing Plant of around 1919 created a lot of interest.

Image

The next door stand was carving owls with a chain saw. Some people are so talented.

Image

Another 1961 Petrol Dexta to add to the growing list. We have 73 so far on the register.

Image

Image

Model "F" with an interesting chain drive magneto driven from the crankshaft. This tractor also had a water pump and a different manifold which had been fitted at some time in its working life. It also had "Long" wings.

Hanomag with decoration.

Beautiful road menders van.

Assorted hand controlled tools.

Image

I am NOT starting the orange grills debate again BUT ...........

Image

Baby Lanz. I have seen these in a museum and in Australia but this one was driving round the field and sounded lovely.

Image

A large number of the tractors had flowers and corn dollys on the front.

Image

Carraro.

Image

Ann wants one of these for collecting the veg and pumpkins!

Image

She also wanted this Citroen.

A selection of IH tractors on show.

This would be quite handy too.

Allegard.

Fendt.

Hanomag Road Tractor.

Image

Steyr.

Image

Image

A couple of nice narrow tractors, 2000 and 3000, the 2000 was for sale.

Image

I would have to loose a lot of weight to drive one! :(

Image

The narrow linkage.

Image

Image

Image

A very nice early 5000 with original features like the filter shield and drain plug only found on the very early tractors.

And of course these pictures and a visit to Meddo would not be complete without my joint first, best looking tractor in the world. If I ever win the lottery I will buy two tractors just to put in the yard and look at.

A Guldner and an 8401!!!!!!!
