Wheel weights
Wheel weights
Hello everybody!
I'm looking for a set of wheelweights for a Fordson Major.
I prefer a complete set (6 pcs) but only the 4 outside weights will do also.
I hope somebody in Holland will react as sending them over from the UK will be a bit expensive..
Thanks.
Martijn

If you find any over here then the Fordsontractorpages land train will be coming to Meddo in September. That could considerably reduce costs

Hi Pascal, are the weights like the ones on the back wheels of my power major? Just wanting to know if I have something rare on mine. I'm told the double clutch she has is also not that common. Good luck to all.Pascal wrote:Hi Martijn,
I think every Major-owner is looking for those.Including me.

Unfortunately there are really rare...

Ive just sold all my spare weights, prices over here seem a bit up and down. I had some very late super major ones with the fomoco script which fetched over £50each. It seems a set of 6 (enfo/e27n script) are fetching £250+ and that doesnt usually include bolts or cast washers.
If I come accross any more I'll let you know.

Hi Gman,
Yes the wheel wheights look like the ones on you tractor. Do you have any close ups? Especially from the bolts inside the rear wheel?
There seems to be ones with Fomoco (Ford Motor Company?) and one with EnFo (English Ford?) inscripted.
I don´t know which ones I should have for my '61 Super?
Hi Martijn,
Looking forward to see your Ford-Fordson collection!
Any pictures by chance? Where you at Meddo last year?

Fordson's don't leak oil, they are just marking their territory.

There seem to have been several scripts used on the E27N and E1A major wheel weights, I had nearly 50 piled up around the place and there seemed to be 4 types. large curved "ENFO", a plain E27N, a smaller "ENFO" and finally FOMOCO. Apart from the script they looked the same. Of course the inner or starter weight (quite rounded on the inside to match the dish of the wheel) has 5 holes around the perimeter and 3 inside to which the outer "flatter" weights are bolted.
Will post pics when get time. Later 1000'nd series weights have all got 6 holes and are not interchangable with major ones (unless you fit later wheels)
Regards.

Ha Pascal,
No, I wasn't at the Meddo show last year. I've never been there.
We always go to the HMT Panningen show with five ford/fordson tractors. Mostly with a fordson F, two fordson N's, a E27N and a big Ford 9000. Look at: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NvJRUwOr4EU and watch me leaving the showsite...

Hi Martijn,
Looking forward to see your tractors this summer @ Panningen.
I hoep to go there by tractor myself. Maybe after the 6 cylinder conversion?
It's quite a drive from Amsterdam to Panningen.
Hi Maxpower,
Lucky you!
Could post some detailpictures of your rear wheel weights? Especially from the bolts inside the wheel? They seem to have a special shape, I have heard.
