Raised pto

Post by Gman »

Hello to all. I power washed the raised pto on the parts Major I have and noticed the retainer seems to cover the upper right bolt slightly. I understand this bolt should not be removed from the raised pto to keep it all together. Do I have to remove the retainer in order to remove the raised pto from the rear end housing? Thanks for any advice.

Gman,
On mine, its not actually covered, but it's so close that you can't get a socket on it. A good quality (like Snap-On or Mac) open end wrench should loosen it. A cheap one (like Harbor Freight) will spread and round off the bolt head.

Thanks JC, I took it off yesterday. A lot of short turns with the open end wrench but it is on the bench. Thanks again.
