Power Major hydraulics

Post by Craig »

Hello, I am new to the forums but have been following various threads.
My father in-law has 2 fordson tractors, a 1952 FMD and a 1958 PMD. The 1952 is quiet rare i have been told as it does not have any 3pl or hydraulics the only thing it has is the pto shaft, this is currently under restoration (taking a long time), it was sat for a long time and the piston liners have become porus. So while the engine is apart im gonna bring her back to her former glory.
The PMD is in working order and we went out and bought a front loader from our local classic tractor specialist which works a treat. we now have a post hole banger which sadly we cant use, this leads me to my question....

I have been reading the various posts about das and dar units for the fordson tractors, i have spent hours upon hours looking for one of these units to install onto the PMD and i have even tried old manufacturers i.e. mcconnel etc, until we get something sorted the post hole banger can't be used as the hydraulic feed raises the 3pl.

Does anyone have an idea where i could get a unit from, the only other option is to buy a later model tractor form 1975+ as these will tend to have dar fitted already.

Thanks in advance

Craig :D

if you can lock arms with a bar or chain in the postion you require flow of oil will go through aux pipe even if arms are locked in down position.
