I have had some time to remove a few parts from the Major and was wondering what this part was and if it went with the Major?
Also here are a few of the items I have removed:
Has anyone seen a fuel filter like this? Thanks and good luck to all on your projects.
Well thats a John Deere fuel filter, and if it came of your tractor, stick with it. They are the easiest filter to fit (ever) . And no messing trying to find a number, just go to a JD outlet and pick one off the shelf.
The other part looks like part of a drawer. Jim.
Yorkshiredextaman is correct. It is a john deere fuel filter. I have changed a lot of those though the years. Be sure you get the correct filter for the unit as there are 3 different ones that are similar, but only one will work. As far as keeping it, that is a matter of taste! Just wondering what part of the tractor you removed the disk with the holes in it from? Dandy Dave!
Thanks all, some of the parts were already off the Major in boxes when I purchased it. The round disk was one item in a box, didn't know if it went with the Major or not. The fuel filter was also already removed but with the bracket painted blue I believe it was in use with the Major, still had fluid in it, but it being a Deere I will stick with my original. I'm not restoring just getting parts although I have a 3 year old grandson and he is calling the Major his. Keeps telling me to quit taking parts off of his tractor and have I fixed it.
Thanks again for the info.

Bought her for parts although my 3 year old grandson is making claim to it. Keeps telling me to quit taking parts off of his tractor. I would love to find the time to see if I could get her back up on her feet.

Look under my post "please look and advice". It is on the 2nd page of this forum. There are pictures there. Also on the post "hydraulic pump removal" there are a few pictures also there.
Also just click one of my pictures and it will take you to all of my pictures on ImageShack.
