hello all , bought a rotor arm off ebay for my tvo major not sure if it's the right one , does not look big enough it's the same size as the one in my ted 20 , when i found the tractor in the corner of the shed at my uncles farm it never had a rotor arm in it so don't know what size it should be or what it looks like. what size should it be and if the one i have is wrong where can i get hold of one the right size.

The rotor arm is smaller. I am using one in mine and it works OK.

If you have any problems with the new rotor arm, the following may help - info I gathered for my E1A Major ... these are all for a Lucas distributor stamped with 'DM4 40275A', which is what I have on mine. The Lucas part numbers are:
Rotor arm - 408355
Points - 419398
Condenser - CI 423871
Distributor cap - 418659.

I got replacements for mine from www.distributordoctor.com - one of the most knowledgeable and helpful guys I have ever come across.

cheers guys , as a rule what should the clearance be between the end of the rotor arm and the contacts inside the distributor cap.
