Super Major Numberplate

Post by atkiman »

Hi

New member here. I am restoring my 61 Super Major and have some questions about the rear numberplate.

Here should be a photo....

There is a long bracket a the back of the seat, is this where the numberplate should mount? Should it be a long or square numberplate?
The standard size numberplate is too wide, it would catch on the lift arms, was it a shorter numberplate?
What about the numberplate light? did it shine upwards on to the numberplate?
Anyone have any photos of the correct UK set up?

Thanks.

On the tractors we sold we drilled and tapped holes in the front block and bolted a long plate on the front, the rear one was a square plate and fitted on the back of the seat.

You will find that now, only one number plate is required by law and this is usually the front one. Rear ones, on the tractor, are nearly always obscured by the load.
