Hi to all great forum old an new.I have a boat that i am rebuilding and it has a ford diesel 4 cylinder in it .I am trying to identify the year and type of engine so i can completly rebuild it.So far i found some numbers under the #1 injector and they read S 782352.Cast in the head is FL and it has six screws holding the rocker cover on.Injector pump is a simms and it is not conected to the timing cover it has a sharft with a coupling on it that is all i know. Also what is the best place to get parts as i buy a lot of stuff in the usa.
It sounds like you have a Fordson Super Major engine. The number that you gave means that its and industrial engine, but we can't date it with that number. On the opposite side of the block, above the generator, if it has one, should be some numbers and letters cast (not stamped) into the block. We can date it with those numbers. Does it have two vacuum lines running from the intake manifold to the injector pump?
Here are the places that I like to buy parts from, in the US.
