Re: wiring for rear lights
The original lighting went back to the single tail light via a single wire, from a post under the dash panel, in a tube which was clipped to the lift top cover. From the tail light it split off into two single wires each side, again in tubes to the bottom of each wing support. Here the tube ended and the single wire went up the front wing support and came out in each side light and via the rear support to the tail lights.
This was the route in all Majors except the early ones which just had the single tail light and front side lights. In these tractors with no wing tail lights it was just a single wire across to each wing. It clipped to the rear of the foot plates on either side
Nylon tube is available to simulate the original. I have many lengths of off-cuts from wiring looms I build which I am happy to send out, if it is of use

When I did mine, I bought some of that nylon conduit off ebay, i think i got 10m of it - it was just enough. I welded little pieces of thin metal to the wings etc and then bent it over the conduit to hold it in place.
Luckily on the 58 major ive got, the old original metal conduit is still in place so im going to try and do it as original - when i get round to it!
Does anyone have a link to some pictures of original majors with the lights on?

Off the top of my head I cannot remember, but the diagram i used was on google images. Although if you have a manual there are wiring diagrams there. Infact i think there may be some on this site - i may be wrong.
