hi guys,
sorry for a question as a first post. this week i have split my mates e1a to fit a new gearbox as some pillock used it with the transmision brake on. anyway i removed the whole wiring loom for safekeeping. ive put it back on today but the starter does nothing. does anyone have a wiring diagram for the starter please. its an early one with throttle rod through the block and a starting leaver. from reading previous posts i know that it doesnt matter which way round the two wires on the switch go so i must have mucked it up at the solonoid under the batery tray. also there is wire coming out of the loom about a foot from the dash pannel. its not very long, maybe 5 inches, where should this go and also there is an extra wire which has been added recentley. im guessing its to give a better earth. i know it kame off one of the solonoid terminals but which and where on the starter should it go.
sorry for all the questions but there will be more on the way after i pick my major next week.
cheers,
liam
e1a starter wiring
Re: e1a starter wiring
Has the solenoid got two small terminals and two large ones? If so, one of the small ones should be from the starter switch and the other to earth. One of the large goes to the starter and the other should come from the battery. On this terminal should also be all the wires for everything else requiring power.

Re: e1a starter wiring
Forgot to say that the wire coming out of the loom is an earth that goes to one of the battery support bolts into the gearbox.
