Have been offered a two wheeled tipping trailer. It has a single acting ram, and one hydraulic pipe. Steel body, wooden sides, would look good with my tractor.
The tractor is an early Super Major, with an Auxillary Service Control knob, which is free, a Flow Control Knob, which is stuck, and a Tipper Pipe with a Dowty fitting.
Would they work together ? I understand that the ASC valve is a diverter valve , either flow to the ram for the lift arms, or flow to the auxillarys through the tipper pipe. Return by the Rear Transmission filler hole.
If i moved the ASC to auxillary it would send flow along the Tipper pipe, and raise the trailer. If i then put the ASC back to normal, how would the oil return to the rear transmission ?
If anybody on the forum has a FMD / PM / FSM and tipping trailer, could you describe your setup.
As you can tell, don't know much about hydraulics.

Re: Tipping Trailer
Just pull out the ASC knob and raise and lower the trailer with the main control lever. Lift MUST be in Draft as using it in Position control could cause embarrassment/damage to buildings/or even in a worse case scenario. loss of life.
Knob out ... Trailer Raise and Lower.
Knob in ... Lift Raise and Lower.
There is no requirement for a return line as the ram is single acting and the oil will go out and back through the ASC.

Re: Tipping Trailer
Thanks for that good news Brian, i was worried that the answer would be a DAR valve.
I'll buy the right fitting and give the tipper a try.
