Would any of you blokes be good enough to give me some info. about what I assume is a SMD; but....?
The compliance plate [VIN] on the bulkhead reads: 4FED 100741 Date indecipherable.
Nothing is stamped under no. 1 injector and the figures on the rear engine flange are unreadable. The head is casting stamped FL.
The injector pump does not have either a de-compression lever or a rich mixture button. Neither does it have a governor. Also the timing marks are not standard.
In addition, the original fuel lift pump did not have a glass dome; but the one I ordered has, but needed an adapter plate made up in order to cover the larger engine block aperture.

SMD info please.
Re: SMD info please.
Sounds like a NP Super engine with an FL head and a large lift pump hole. Should look like this:

This is the mechanical governed pump fitted to that tractor, governor is in the back housing. Excess fuel is the button in the centre of the stop.
Could also be a new block on some other tractor. The serial number missing and the number you quote does not quite add up.
Timing marks are on a pointer over the coupling not beside it as per the FMD,PM and early Super.
