Blew up our PM starter...

Post by colobio »

Well, the saga continues, we got the hydraulics back together with new seals, adjusted the plow, drove it to the field and ran out of fuel 5' into the first plow.

Hooked an electric fuel pump up to it and purged, when we tried to restart, the armature on the starter "blew up." The chunks that were thrown out took out all the brushes. Sigh...

Where do I find starter parts for these in the US or a starter to adapt that won't cost half the cost of the tractor? Anyone?

Best to take it to a local starter repair shop. They should be able to install a new armature, brushes, and brush holder parts. Dandy Dave!
