AHHH this is a Ford-Ransomes EP3 plough. Build between 1951 and 1954 at Ford and after 1954 at Ransomes. This one is build by Ransomes, because it has the depth wheel parts of Ransomes, rather than the cast iron depth wheel arm from Ford.

I used this plough the other weekend at a local match - I won two cups, winner of the novice class and winner of best working outfit - presented to the best matched tractor and plough in original un-modified condition - couple of pics below.
I just started with matches. Done my first one a month ago.
I'll hope to win a cup once. If there was a price for the original plough and tractor I would make a great change. My plough is almost original, and the things I have rebuild are made to original standard except for the diameter of the discs. Mine are larger.
How is the major doing with 3 furrows? Was is heave soil?
Heavy clay soil with lots of big stones - I'd cut it down to 2 furrows and it went well, except the boards have lots of heavy rust pitting so the soil kept sticking to them making the work not as neatly turned as it could have been. But all good fun!

Keep plowing with it. It will shine up after some time. We use to grease our plow moleboards before we put it in the shed at the end of the season. Dandy Dave!
